Men's suits were impeccably tailored. To me, there is not a huge difference between mens suits in the 50s and now, but I would say that the fabrics used were a little different. Here is my second attempt at an off the rack version of 50s business style.
This look worn by Jon Hamm in Mad Men is claissic and structured. This is a suit worn typicaly by men working higher up within a company. Hats were an important part of the look which we till touch base on in a later post on accessories.
This oufit from the Banana Republic Mad Men collection well represents the suits worn by men in the 50s. This suit typicaly worn by business men is now more popular for a differnt demographic.
